Maksat Satybaldiev
High-energy astrophysicist
About Maksat
I’m a PhD candidate at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, working in the LOVE-NEST group with Prof. Manuel Linares. My research focuses on high-energy emission from spider pulsars (redbacks and black widows) using X-ray and gamma-ray space observatories.
Previously, I studied mathematics and physics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, while also working at the Space Research Institute with Dr. Ilya Mereminskiy. My bachelor’s and master’s theses focused on high-mass X-ray binaries and X-ray burster systems.
I am particularly interested in extreme astrophysical objects that exhibit variability or periodic behavior. I especially enjoy timing analysis and working with observational data from these systems.
Outside of research, I have many hobbies that I’m not particularly good at. I enjoy films, playing the guitar, football (both watching and playing), chess, running, and cycling.
Feel free to email me at maksatsatybaldiev @ gmail.com to discuss science, the latest Champions League matches, or new movies.
